KRUPP NSDAP Silver Coffee/Tea Pot.

Postby The Devils Bank » Sat Jan 25, 2020 8:08 pm

This is a large NSDAP coffee/tea pot and it measures almost 11 inches across and about 7 inches high.

These are often referred to as "Klessheim pieces", even possibly for Martin Bormann??

A nice political silver coffee/tea pot and in a very nice condition, complete with a lovely patina too.

Maker marked for the firm of "Krupp", which is proper for these pieces.

It bears the proper national eagle, which is done in larger scale for the pots size.

I've always loved these pieces and over the years I have always wanted a decent collectible example.

With Dave's recent visit to the Krupp factory, I just wonder what part of the building these pieces where made in?

What a fantastic piece of history Pete, really great to see on our pages. I have seen these before but not for a long time. From what I understand these were actually used at the Krupp works in the massive canteen area for senior managers or important visitors. The canteen alone used to cater for 5000 plus workforce, so you can imagine the amount of plates, pots, pans, coffee pots, tea-pots they must have had. I will look out for more similar whilst I am here, it must be out there.

A really great item Pete - congratulations

Possibly so Dave, as you say there must be a lot more of this stuff out and about

I didn't know that many people (5000+) worked there

Congratulations indeed Pete on finding this amazing piece of history. Amazing too that it has survived all these years and not been melted down ( having the eagle). Pleased you have finally found this example for your collection.
