Olympia 1936 - Volumn 2.

Postby Dave_Holden » Sun Jan 12, 2020 1:36 pm

I was at a market today in Germany and found another nice ciggy album. Found a band 1 a few months back so lucky to have found this band 2 to make another set. Cheap too as I only paid a tenner, so the set stands me at 25 EURO if I remember correctly for what I paid for the other. Unfortunately no dust jacket with this one and map is missing, but all cards are present - nice condition. A few photos below and I particularly like the card of the 3 lovely women divers - from the left Kate Kohler (bronze), Velma Dunn (silver) and Dorothy Poynton-Hill (gold). Also great photo of the German boxers in their official dress uniforms.

Thanks for looking.

Like the picture of Jesse Owens and the guy carving his name. 100 & 200 metres, Lauf Owens USA literal translation "Run Owens"

Hi Andy.

If it's your visits no problem, but please none of me please. I am working in Germany now and you got to be careful. Its quiet an eye opener how all are being watched - I kid you not.

Great stuff Andy! Josef Wackerle did many of the sculptures at the Berlin stadium. We saw another one of his works just outside Berchtesgaden, do you remember
