Porcelain from Solingen

Postby Andyb » Mon May 20, 2019 2:51 pm

Picked this immaculate porcelain piece up from A little antique shop in Solingen, she is about 9 inch high and beautiful.
Would be interested to know if anyone has any details on the maker or piece etc, the man in the shop said it was over a 100 years old

Hi Andy.

Very nice indeed, you can see similar on episodes of Poirot, they are usually dotted around his apartment. Yours is approx. 1920s, totally period piece. The porcelain works is "Hutschenreuther" from Northern Bavaria. Artist is Prof Karl Tutter, born 1883 and died 1969. They later merged with a porcelain works in Selb Bavaria, you can see the Selb name on may TR period pieces.

Great figurine Andy, a conservative value (from me anyway) - EURO 120 to 150.

Cheers

Dave.

Cheers Dave for the information, and value, looks like I got a bargain as I paid €75 for it. As same with the Sonnenwend, as soon as I saw here I had to get it, looks like I have caught your bug =))
