Kriegsmarine Cap

Postby Dave_Holden » Thu May 16, 2019 9:33 am

Here is a cap that is really getting hard to find.

This Kriegsmarine cap has a deep navy blue doeskin wool construction - very soft material. The cap has a woven black silk construction cap tally with machine woven Gothic script, "Kriegsmarine". Nice quality one piece eagle and cockade, just as they should be. The interior is missing its moisture shield and the leather sweat band has a section missing at the front of the cap. To the rear there are the silk "tails" complete in length.

This is a good honest Kriegs cap showing period use. The body is free from mothing and the cap would be classed as A+ if the sweat band and moisture shield were complete.

Thanks for looking

That's a cool piece, if only it could talk. Would be great to know where this cap was worn.

Lovely original cap Dave. I presume the German navy didn’t have the name of the ship on , like the British navy
