Blown WW2 Shell Casing.

Postby The Devils Bank » Sat Jul 18, 2020 4:49 pm

Going to clean this shell casing up and see what I can do with it..

Should make a nice garden ornament.

Not sure what the shell is as there are no markings on it. :((

Pictures show it with some de-ruster applied.

No Mucka, it's a blown shell casing.

Here it is after it's first clean.

I've been told that this isn't a shell casing at all

Apparently it's a gun barrel

I'm trying to find out what type it could be.. :-??

The shape has got to have been caused by some sort of blockage in the barrel I would guess at.

I gave it another clean and wash and added some red oxide paint.

Then I left to to dry in the sun.

Finally army green paint was used.

It cleaned up better than I expected and it's a nice garden feature for the flies and spiders to play on

You can now see a nicely cleaned up Katyusha Rocket.

Well worth the effort.
