Grave at Ranville cemetery

Postby muckaroon1960 » Mon Jun 06, 2016 4:01 pm

Took this picture a few years back on a visit to Pegasus Bridge. Very appropriate for today. Lt Brotheridge was killed whilst leading his men across the Orne canal bridge. A few weeks ago I met the son of the 2nd man across the bridge who saw Lt Brotheridge get shot and also saw Arlette Gondree looking out of the Gondree Café window. "Up the Ox & Bucks!"

Another sad reminder on this anniversary, of the sacrifices made by our soldiers on D-Day 1944.
