Great Andy - such a shame they demolished the Platterhof Hotel. I wish I bought the light fittings I was once offered :sad:

To finish this topic off here is another jewel in the crown , it is lake Konnigsee which can be seen from the Eagles nest and were Hitler visited . It is beautiful and the lake is fresh water and the only boats allowed on the lake have to be electric for purity. Around the lake are stop offs were you can have a drink and something to eat . It’s just amazing . Taking my good lady here this summer :thumbsup: enjoy

Really great stuff Andy - brilliant. I have sat on that rock myself many times. One thing I haven't done as yet is to walk to the far end of the lake, this is where Eva Braun filmed them all skinny dipping in the waterfall, you can find it on line. Of course AH or Himmler not included - wouldent really have fitted the image :grin:
