My Model Aircraft Collection

Postby muckaroon1960 » Thu Aug 02, 2018 6:49 pm

I have a small collection of model aircraft 1:144 scale or bigger. Bought most of these from car boots except the Memphis Belle which I had brand new and attached the miniature DFC. They were already assembled and mainly metal and plastic.

B24D Liberator 448BG Assembly plane, RAF Seething.
Memphis Belle B17F 91BG RAF Bassingbourn.
B17E Airwolf 303BG RAF Molesworth.
F86 Sabre (Korean War).
McDonnel Douglas F4 Phantom (Vietnam War).
Boeing B52.
P51D Mustang 356FG RAF Martlesham Heath.

A wonderful collection. Models have always fascinated me. I once had a period piece crafted by an RAF man, given to my Mother and father in the War.

Another addition I picked up today, 617 sqn Dambusters Lancaster complete with bouncing bomb. 1:144 scale. Sits nicely with my other RAF model plane collection. There was undercarriage in the box but left these off.

Lancaster model is made by Atlas Editions, quality isn't as good as Corgi Models but still displays well.

Great collection Paul
I started off just making airfix models when I was a kid as there was no way near the choice of diecast aircraft out there and definitely not the quality of today .
I may give you a word of warning =)) =)) it gets addictive and so does the quantity of pieces
Here is my small display ^#(^ , most are 1/72 scale apart from a few

Andy - WORDS FAIL ME. All I can say this is art. Also what a wealth of "Stuff" , "Information" and enjoyment we are blest with on our Forum Club. If this is a for taste of what we have to look forward to, 2019 on Broadsword will be a WOW
